Role purpose:
Provide strategic and tactical leadership to ensure Arcadis Design & Engineering business derives maximum value from its portfolio of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Generative AI (GenAI) engineering intelligence and digital design platforms. The role acts as a trusted partner between Design & Engineering business leaders project teams technology functions and AI software vendors to accelerate the adoption of AI-enabled solutions that improve engineering productivity project delivery knowledge reuse technical excellence and innovation. This role is responsible for helping shape how AI becomes embedded within engineering and design workflows across Arcadis enabling teams to work smarter make better decisions and deliver greater value to clients.
Role description:
- Build strong relationships with Engineering Directors Technical Directors BIM & Digital Engineering leaders Discipline Leads and project delivery teams.
- Identify opportunities where AI can improve engineering workflows project delivery quality assurance knowledge discovery and technical decision-making.
- Partner with engineering communities to understand challenges and develop AI-enabled solutions that address real-world project needs.
Provide consultancy and best-practice guidance on selecting AI solutions most appropriate to engineering and project delivery challenges.
Lead evaluation implementation and optimisation of AI platforms and services.
Develop and manage relationships with key AI platform providers.
Lead AI adoption initiatives across Design & Engineering teams.
- Develop engagement strategies that increase awareness and effective use of AI capabilities.
- Ensure AI solutions are implemented in line with Arcadis AI Principles and governance frameworks.
- Ensure appropriate controls exist around project data client information and intellectual property.
- Oversee AI platform administration upgrades integrations and roadmap planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Engineering Computer Science Data Science Digital Engineering Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence Generative AI Large Language Models (LLMs) Agentic AI Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and knowledge intelligence platforms.
- Experience working within Design & Engineering Digital Engineering BIM or Engineering Technology environments.
- Ability to translate business challenges into technology-enabled solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management consulting and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing capabilities.
- Experience managing strategic vendor relationships.
Experience deploying administering or governing enterprise-grade Generative AI Large Language Model (LLM) and Agentic AI platforms within a business environment.
Experience applying AI technologies to design workflows engineering analysis BIM processes digital delivery technical documentation and project execution.
