TeWhiwhinga mahi The opportunity
We are looking for anexperienced support worker to join our 24/7 crisis respite team. Our service offers support for 4 guests at atime who are experiencing mental health distress. Referrals come to our service via Te WhatuOra Mental Health Services andwe can receive referrals at any time of the day or night.

On theawake night shift youll be there to lend a hand with everyday things likemaking meals and helping to maintain our whare. You will provide calm and steady support forguests while they focus on their wellbeing. Every shift is a chance to make a difference in someones life.

Youll also

  • Focus on the individuals needs and provide culturally safe practice
  • Complete relevant administrative tasks take comprehensive notes provide effective handovers to the next shift and support and collaborate with your colleagu
  • While guests are asleep you will be kept busy maintaining our beautiful whare which a place of beauty tranquillity and healing.

This role is working Thursday to Saturday on our awake nights shift working from 11pm -7.30am in Whanganui.

Yourea natural when it comes to caring with empathy and understand the power ofworking in a recovery-focused way where individuals take charge of their ownjourney making you an ideal fit for this role.

Inadditions

  • You must hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent.
  • A current full drivers licence
  • Hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate covering unitsand 6402 or be willing to obtain one
  • Skills or experience in mindfulness and sensory modulation or a willingness to develop these approaches to support guests wellbeing
  • Have knowledge of and demonstrate commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
