IT Systems Administrator (Azure & Microsoft 365)

Location: Hybrid - Malta

Responsibilities:

As an IT Systems Administrator your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Azure Infrastructure Management

• Provision configure maintain and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments and remote virtual machines

• Ensure reliable and secure remote access for employees and business users

• Monitor cloud resources and optimize performance where required

Advanced Technical Support

• Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues related to user access operating systems hardware and software

• Diagnose and resolve Level 2/3 support incidents efficiently

Identity & Access Management

• Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)

• Manage user accounts permissions security groups and lifecycle processes

• Support identity governance and access control initiatives

Microsoft 365 Administration

• Manage and support Exchange Online SharePoint Online Microsoft Teams and related services

• Assist with user onboarding configuration and platform maintenance

Endpoint & System Management

• Deploy operating system updates security patches and software packages

• Manage endpoint compliance using Microsoft Intune or equivalent solutions

• Maintain asset and configuration standards across the environment

Network & Connectivity Support

• Support office networking infrastructure including wired and wireless connectivity

• Monitor and maintain VPN services and secure access to cloud resources

Security & Compliance

• Monitor security events and endpoint compliance

• Support adherence to internal security standards and regulatory frameworks including GDPR and ISO 27001

• Assist with security audits and remediation activities

Documentation

• Maintain technical documentation operational procedures knowledge base articles and user guides

• Ensure documentation remains accurate and up to date

On-Call Support

• Participate in an occasional on-call rotation to support critical incidents and business continuity requirements

Requirements:

Technical Skills

• Proven experience administering Microsoft Azure environments including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and virtual machines

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online SharePoint and Microsoft Teams

• Experience working with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

• Comfortable supporting both Windows and Linux environments

• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration

• Strong troubleshooting skills across systems networking hardware and software

• Experience using Jira and Confluence or similar service management and documentation platforms

• Familiarity with Microsoft Intune or comparable endpoint management solutions

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related discipline preferred

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) are highly desirable
