Job Summary

The IT Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of IT projects across the Group ensuring they are completed on time within budget and to the agreed scope and quality. The role takes independent ownership of assigned projects and works alongside the Digital Solutions Manager on shared Group initiatives providing structured delivery governance and supplier coordination.

This is a delivery-focused position. Where the Digital Solutions Manager defines what is to be built and why (business analysis process design and solution selection) the IT Project Manager owns how it is delivered: planning execution risk and change management and handover into operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of assigned IT projects defining scope objectives deliverables timelines and resource requirements with stakeholders.
  • Take independent ownership of designated projects while collaborating with the Digital Solutions Manager on shared Group initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans budgets and schedules tracking progress against milestones.
  • Define and manage project scope ensuring changes are assessed and controlled rather than absorbed silently.
  • Liaise with international teams and country offices to ensure project objectives are met consistently across sites.

Supplier & Resource Management

  • Coordinate internal teams and external vendors and contractors holding them to agreed milestones service levels and quality standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts escalating performance or delivery concerns promptly.
  • Support procurement processes and ensure compliance with IT and corporate standards.
  • Oversee system upgrades technology refreshes and infrastructure rollouts.

Governance & Reporting

  • Establish and maintain project documentation roadmaps and progress dashboards.
  • Report on project status budget risks and issues to the CIO and project steering committees.
  • Manage risks dependencies and changes through a structured change-control process.
  • Maintain a clear audit trail of decisions approvals and project sign-offs.
  • Ensure alignment with IT governance frameworks (e.g. 27001) and data protection requirements (GDPR).

Handover & Adoption

  • Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and are handed over to operations and support with appropriate documentation.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and feed them into future delivery.
  • Support user adoption and training in coordination with the Digital Solutions Manager.


Requirements
  • Valid Passport
  • Degree-level education preferably in IT Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience managing IT projects ideally including software implementations and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering IT projects on time within budget and to scope.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile/Scrum).
  • Experience coordinating delivery across multiple sites or countries.
  • Project management certification (PRINCE2 PMP or PMI-ACP / Scrum Master) preferred.

  • Resilient under pressure stays composed with competing priorities shifting requirements and tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative & accountable takes ownership follows through on commitments and escalates risks early.
  • Fluent in English strong written and spoken communication.
Desired:
  • Familiarity with Business Central Office 365 SharePoint or Logistics/Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Proficiency with project management tooling (e.g. MS Project Jira Azure DevOps).
  • Experience in a multi-site or multi-country multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL) and standards (NIS2 ISO 27001).
  • Knowledge of Maltese.
