Traveler will automatically be declined. **Only submit traveler who can work schedule in posting and interested in the unit.The Neurosciences Progressive Unit is a 12bed intermediate care unit. The population we care for is predominately neurosurgery neurology and stroke. We provide both general and intermediate levels of care in a fastpaced environment.The Registered Nurse systematically and continuously collects and assesses data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. The nurse performs all required elements of a nursing assessment including but not limited to physical examination readiness to learn psychosocial assessment and functional assessment. The Registered Nurse is an active member of the multidisciplinary team and collaborates in the development execution and evaluation of the plan of care. The Registered Nurse considers factors related to safety effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering care. The Registered Nurse s decisions and actions with patients and families are determined in an ethical manner. The Registered Nurse establishes goals and strategies for meeting the discharge or continuing care needs of the patient/family. The Registered Nurse provides care in accordance with nurse practice acts and the professional nursing role. The Registered Nurse utilizes research findings in his/her practice. He/she demonstrates knowledge of and participates in improving organizational performance activities. The Registered Nurse acquires and maintains knowledge in nursing practice and assumes responsibility for the professional development of self other nursing staff and students.Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in travelers profile: resume Medefis portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listed). Experience: ICU experience required. Neurosurgery experience preferred. Must be willing to work with ICU and IMC patient population. Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years. Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital. Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks). Licensure and Certification: Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state. BLS & ACLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY Reference Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only). TelemetryTraveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions). UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to traveler 23 weeks prior to start date. FloatingTravelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the travelers competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler s assignment if the primary unit no longer has a need shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete contract. Location: University Hospital 600 Highland Ave Madison WI 53792 Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation. Shift: 36 hours per week Evening/Night 12 hr shift; every other weekend some holidays
