Inspects and diagnoses machine malfunctions. Repairs and replaces defective machines or equipment. Uses a wide variety of tools and equipment to ensure proper maintenance of machines. Record and document type and cost of repair work needed. May be involved in fabrication operation application installation and/or repair of mechanical products. May require a bachelors degree in engineering and 46 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonlyused concepts practices and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and preestablished guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
