Ultrasound Technician

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and positioning them appropriately
• Operate ultrasound equipment to capture images of internal organs tissues or blood flow
• Ensure images meet quality standards for accurate diagnostic interpretation
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to review and interpret ultrasound images
• Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Provide patient education and support throughout the imaging process
• Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure proper functionality
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
• Stay current with new techniques and equipment in ultrasound technology

Required Qualifications:

• Associates degree in ultrasound technology or related field
• ARDMS certification in sonography
• State licensure or certification as required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician
• Proficiency in performing abdominal pelvic obstetrical and vascular ultrasound procedures
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in image capture and documentation
• Commitment to patient care and comfort
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Understanding of medical ethics and patient confidentiality
