Technical Proofreader

Proofreader Job Summary

We are looking for a detailoriented and technically experienced Technical Proofreader to join our team.

You must be proficient in English with broad experience in offshore drilling rig services and associated standards procedures and required reporting.

Our ideal candidate is meticulous in technically reviewing documents sent for proofreading by our global teams noting errors such as word usage standards referenced technical details formatting image acceptability plus other general errors and omissions.

Technical competence is preferred in a range of drilling rig equipment and related services as below though not limited to this:

• Inspection and Overhaul of Drilling Equipment and Rotating Equipment
• Inspection of Derricks/Masts
• Cranes and Lifting Equipment Inspection and Testing
• Special Periodic Surveys
• Marine/Class Requirements and Related Reports
• Nondestructive testing (NDT)
• Other General Rig Mechanical Inspections and Overhauls
• Other General Rig Electrical Inspections

Proofreader Duties and Responsibilities

• Review documents for correct technical content and accuracy.
• Review documents for grammar spelling and formatting.
• Ensure text meets required standard of English along with a suitable tone and clear explanations.
• Feedback on reports will be communicated back to technicians for editing or directly edited in some cases.
• Meet proofreading deadlines.

Proofreader Requirements and Qualifications

• 15 years experience in drilling rigs and related equipment
• Excellent grammar and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• A selfmotivated task completer
