Key Responsibilities:
Beating heart wetlab set up for cross-functional teams
Support engineering activities such as test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly under the close supervision of Engineers
Build prototypes, sub-assemblies, and prepare feasibility test units, samples, and/or chemical solutions
Perform work using drawings, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions
Perform operational test and identify failure modes on systems and equipment
Collect and document test data
Order and maintain lab supplies and equipment
Operate basic lab equipment and perform routine testing
On time arrival to work, regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 8 hour or longer work period
Other incidental duties (e.g. occasional photo copying or deliveries)
Skills:
Basic written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
Good computer skills, including usage of MS Office Suite
Moderate understanding of equipment in a lab environment
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting
Ability to identify problems and relevant issues in straightforward situations, assessing using standard procedures
Ability to use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment; use tools such as measuring equipment
Ability to read and understand procedures, drawings, schematics and carry out assembly instructions
Knowledge of and adherence to Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to lab and/or clean room medical device manufacturing
Strict attention to detail
Must be able to work under close supervision
Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree
or
equivalent in technical degree/certificate in related field Required
or
1 year experience previously related experience Required R&D lab and/or medical device experience Preferred
