Qualifications:
Information Technology seeks to hire a highly motivated and dedicated professional to maintain the Customer Service System (CSS) Output Billing and Bill Presentment.
CSS is our legacy billing system which calculates bills for Con Edison's Electric and Gas customers. The billing information is then passed to Output billing system to format customer's billing data.
HP Exstream, document composition software, generates customer's bills, which are transmitted to our vendor Broadridge for print/Mail.
The candidate must have proficiency with the HP Exstream product suite, and development experience with advanced and administrative components of HP Exstream.
Candidate must have knowledge of MVS OS and application development experience using COBOL.
The right candidate is a team player who understands the criticality of application development to the success of our business.
The candidate must be well versed in the mainframe environment, and must have extensive experience using HP Exstream document composition.
Previous work experience in the utility industry, a general knowledge of business processes such as Customer Billing is preferred.
Responsibilities implementation of new systems, enhancements, or software products when required by regulation, policy change, or strategic business transformation.
With minimal guidance, candidate must be able to the effectively maintain and enhance existing mission critical customer service applications in addition to performing programming activities related to new system development.
An Associate's degree or technical certification in Computer Science or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience with responsibilities in performance tuning, software upgrades, work cross-functionally with other IT project areas, supporting planned maintenance, supporting IT issues and activities with vendors as necessary.
Candidate must ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and government regulations.
The candidate must be able to learn quickly, assimilate new concepts, and think analytically. Candidates should have a strong customer focus, and seek to develop their leadership and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills are required, as the candidate will routinely interact with various business groups both within and outside of IT.
Candidate must have knowledge of full life cycle software development experience (SDLC) Understands product life cycles; developing initiatives that apply and implements solutions.
Responsibilities:
The Customer Operations Support group is responsible for enhancing, maintaining, integrating, and developing systems related to customer operations and customer self-service.
These systems are critical to the success of the Customer Operations organization and the goals of the entire company.
Customer systems and secure interfaces support the many processes that include output billing, NYPA and various systems that support our Corporate Customer Group.
The candidate will be involved with several key initiatives involving Customer Operations.
Some of these initiatives include the building of new applications that support the aforementioned processes, enhancements to existing applications, implementing Public Service Commission-mandated programs, and the evaluation and integration of vendor software.
