Position Description

Role Title: Strategic Partnerships Development Manager

Duration: 6 months

Work Location: San Francisco CA Hybrid (TuesThurs in the office. Monday & Friday remote)

Work Schedule: 8:00am 5:00pm Pacific Time

Project Overview:

The Global Research Partnerships team drives the hundreds of partnerships that are required to support the vast array of Research PA initiatives which collectively touch and impact just about every. We support innovation rather than products and our work is transformational through impacts that accrue over time. The deals we drive are typically highly negotiated bespoke agreements often involving complex IP considerations and in highly regulated environments. We engage strategically vs. transactionally spending significant time upfront to understand the technology and develop thoughtful partnerships strategies before executing partnerships.

This role specifically supports the Quantum AI team. Quantum AIs mission is to make useful quantum computing tools available to the world to enable humankind to solve problems that would otherwise be impossible. Quantum AI is building novel systems that can leverage quantum mechanics to outperform the worlds largest computers at certain classes of problems.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Map out the Quantum AI space to determine gaps and needs for Agreements and areas of partnership risk;
  • Where appropriate and in coordination with the Quantum AI team help identify potential partners to solve gaps in supply services or ecosystem development;
  • Work closely with the Quantum AI PgM and TPgM teams to identify and prioritize agreements
  • Manage and own overall deal flow and own the execution process from agreement initiation to execution leveraging internal tools and processes.
  • Scope draft and negotiate and close deals related to the Quantum space covering areas including but not limited to component supply equipment purchases IP licensing ecosystem development and vendor staffing.
  • Work closely with legal and other cross functional partners (i.e. finance) to review and gain alignment on all agreements and resolve open issues and risk points.
  • Work with EMEA and APAC Partnership teams to help align regional needs with the Quantum team and support localized deal execution where needed.
  • Build Partnerships best practices into the Quantum AI partnerships process and strategies.

Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years work experience in a partnerfacing role at a technology company startup or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in agreement negotiation partner management or product management in a consumer electronics or technology development environment

NonEssential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with a variety of partners including hardware and silicon will be a big plus
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical and detailoriented execution
  • Excellent communication analytical problemsolving process navigation and crossfunctional collaboration skills
  • Experience in technology business development or other entrepreneurial environment
  • Passion in technology and emerging/earlystage product and iInterest in science and demonstrated intellectual curiosity
  • Educational or professional background in a science or engineering field such as computer science electrical engineering physics and/or AI/ML is a big plus but not required

Skill/Experience/Education
