    Job Summary:

    The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process, ensuring the acquisition of goods and services align with the organization's goals and objectives. This role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with vendors to secure favourable terms.

    Duties and Responsibility:

  • Participate in develop and implement strategic procurement plans in alignment with organizational goals
  • Ensuring operational efficiency by actively supporting the execution of tender processes from the initial phase to the contract award.
  • Managing and monitoring supplier contracts, ensuring standards are met in relation to quality, cost, service and supply risk management.
  • Working closely to tight deadlines with management to ensure procurement procedures are in place, and undertake evaluation of tenders based on financial or non-financial criteria, advising on the most appropriate contract to be awarded
  • Contributing to the development and promotion of Procurement Models, standards and policies covering procedures, documentation, governance, vendor risk management to drive consistency and good practices
  • Working closely with the Legal team and/or external services to understand and manage legal risks to develop appropriate contract terms and conditions.
  • Generate a monthly report on progress of ongoing tenders, advice of tight deadlines and future actions to the Management.
  • Ensuring all procurement activities and outcomes are accurately maintained and recorded on the procurement tracker and data base electronically, providing a regular update to the Management.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and trends.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality, and reliability.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
