The Senior HSE Officer is responsible for implementing safe systems of work and safe behavioral practices. This position provides HSE guidance to the organization and supports the operation process in order to maintain and continually improve the safety culture and performance, in line with the organization’s needs to comply with business objectives in the short, medium and long terms and in accordance with the terms of our various contracts.

The Senior HSE Officer will have the following main responsibilities:

Key Result Areas and Responsibilities

Key Result Area 1: Implementing safe systems of work and safe behavioral practices

● Ensures implementation and upholding of all YDE HSE policies, plans and procedures.

● Organizes the HSE documentation of the projects he/she is involved in.

● Ensures inspections, monitoring, and controlling of the projects HSSE performance at a satisfactory level.

● Promotes and upholds safety awareness in all employees of YDE and contractors employed by YDE.

● Advises line supervision and HSE Manager promptly on unsafe plant equipment or working conditions.

● Schedules and leads in office emergency drills.

● Ensures project interfaces on the HSE activities are properly coordinated between suppliers and YDE team to ensure all project activities comply with the project HSSE plans, procedures, and guidelines.

● Ensures operational personnel use and have correct protective clothing and equipment PPE.

● Ensure the compliance of YDE Jordan branch with local legislations and regulations, while maintaining an updated legal register.

● Ensures Fire Marshall’s are deployed where required.

Key Result Area 2: Process Improvements

● Monitors constructions and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory HSE performance.

● Provides recommendations and institutes measures for improvement by modification to operating procedures/work instructions.

Key Result Area 3: Teamwork

● Supports the HSE Manager to develop Company Safety Standards and promote safety culture among the ranks throughout the Company, being responsible for all site safety.

● Supports the HSE Manager to plan, develop and manage the HSE standards of the projects, including coordinating and procurement and supervise the construction efforts to formulate the most Safety plan to achieve timely completion of the project in zero accidents policy and within budget.

● Performs his/her duties, and coordinate the project activities with site managers, project engineers, quality manager, HSE manager, scheduler, document controller, and the departments of Engineering, Finance and Administration, HR, legal and other support staff depending on the specific project needs and the organization and staffing plans approved for each project.

● Supports the wider YDE team with client activities orientated around HSE, including but not limited to site visits, inspections, meetings, training etc.
