Role Summary

The SBCI currently provides funding and guarantees to a range of on-lending finance providers to support the provision of long-term low-cost credit to SMEs in Ireland. The SBCI continues to develop its range of financial supports to address market failures in the Irish credit market. It is essential that these products are effectively researched in development and promoted in the market, once deployed.

SBCI is seeking to recruit a Temporary Senior Data Analyst within the Data Analysis & Reporting team to cover a leave of absence. The primary role of the job holder is to deliver accurate reporting to stakeholders and to enhance this process through analytical insight and automation.


Principal Accountabilities

The role will include and is not limited to:

  • Be responsible for the regular production of reports and dashboards to a variety of stakeholders. This reporting must be accurate, consistent and of the highest quality.
  • Support the SBCI data and analysis requirements. This will require data specification, problem definition, data retrieval as well as data analysis.
  • Engage in a process of continuous improvement, working with management to identify areas for analysis and development. This may include forecasting, automation and identifying trends.
  • Understand the SBCI s core data systems and the impact of business processes on the data within those systems.
  • Assist the team in driving the data quality agenda within SBCI. This includes creating an awareness of the importance of good quality data and following up on data quality issues through to remediation and closure.
  • Assist and support the Data Analysis & Reporting Manager and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Liaison with the Department of Finance and other Government departments regarding reports.
  • Participating in cross function projects as required.

The SBCI operates with a small and focused team, which may mean that flexibility is required from all team members to contribute to efforts beyond their specific areas of responsibility when necessary.



Requirements

Experience/ Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years post qualification relevant analytical experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in data extraction, data analysis, data manipulation and data quality.
  • Demonstrable experience in producing dashboards using BI software such as Tableau, Power BI, or Oracle.
  • Demonstrable experience in producing reports for stakeholders with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Experience in programming in SQL is an advantage.
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to generate innovative solutions.
  • Meticulous approach to the quality and accuracy of documents and presentations
  • Collaborate internally and externally with a range of stakeholders.
  • Lead tasks and deliver results with minimum oversight.
  • Understands the impact of information analysis to the organisation to meet business objectives.
  • Strong time management and organisation skills and able to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong emphasis on delivery
  • A proven track record of meeting tight deadlines, providing accurate and relevant data with end-to-end ownership for delivery of tasks.
  • Proven track record of operating in a changing/demanding environment with ability to manage multiple assignments to a consistently high standard.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment, adapting as required to the evolving business needs.
