Senior Commercial Advisor

Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.

Location: Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Type of hiring: Contract

KEY OBJECTIVES:

• Assist the Head of Commercial & Economics in negotiating and drafting contracts.
• Serve as a liaison among various departments in the KL office for commercial projects.
• Supervise facilitate develop and enhance the companys commercial relationships with PETRONAS and Joint Venture Partners (JVPs).
• Assess the commercial impact of business decisions related to Production Sharing Contracts Joint Operating Agreements and other vital commercial agreements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Safeguard COMPANYs interests in commercial negotiations.
• Coordinate and provide support in commercial negotiations.
• Prepare and support commercial proposals and scenario analyses.
• Review the commercial implications of business decisions.
• Manage responses to queries from PETRONAS and JVPs.
• Ensure the company is wellrepresented in industry and trade groups.
• Assist the Head of Commercial and Economics with reporting and other tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree (or equivalent qualification) in engineering finance or law.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in dealing with Production Sharing Contracts Joint Operating Agreements and Sales Contracts.
• Previous involvement in commercial negotiations and economics.
• Strong teamwork communication and leadership skills.
• Experience in negotiating oil and gas contracts.
• Experience with major oil and gas projects.
• Fluent in both oral and written English.
• Local individuals will be considered.
