Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detailoriented Senior Accountant to contribute to our accounting and finance team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in financial reporting budgeting and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records ensuring compliance with regulations and providing valuable insights to support strategic decisionmaking.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Manage monthend and yearend close processes including reconciliations journal entries and accruals.
• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts working closely with department heads to develop accurate projections.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends risks and opportunities providing recommendations for improvement.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics highlighting areas of concern and proposing solutions to enhance profitability and efficiency.
• Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation of tax returns including income tax and sales tax filings.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Mentor and train junior accounting staff fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles with progressive responsibility.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Prior experience in specific industry/sector is a plus.
