Safeguarding Manager

The Regional Safeguarding Manager, Middle East and North Africa will be part of the global safeguarding team and will contribute to the live and dynamic safeguarding change agenda within the British Council by way of shaping the future of British Council s response to safeguarding. This is a key role in creating a safeguarding culture by managing and embedding the safeguarding agenda across all key areas of British Council service delivery, which will include the implementation and monitoring of the safeguarding strategy and, implementing safeguarding policies, procedures and good practice models within the Middle East and North Africa region. It will develop and deploy reporting tools, strengthen capacity and ensure specific measures are in place to manage and mitigate risk within the role s direct areas of responsibility.
The role, although line managed by Deputy Regional Director Middle East and North Africa will also have frequent interaction with the Regional Director in the region. It will also report to the Global Head of Safeguarding in the UK on a regular basis as a key member of the global safeguarding team and attend regular meetings of that team.
