- Monitoring occupancy rates, pricing structures, and competitors’ room rates to ensure that the hotel’s revenue goals are being met
- Reviewing room inventory reports to determine if additional rooms need to be added to accommodate increasing demand
- Reporting financial results to senior management regarding room revenues and expenses
- Ensuring that all taxes are collected and paid on time, including sales tax, room tax, and occupancy tax
- Creating detailed reports on occupancy rates, accounting for changes in rates, and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Investigating guest complaints about room quality or service issues
- Authorizing refunds for guests who are dissatisfied with their stay or who have been overcharged
- Supervising housekeeping staff to ensure that rooms are cleaned properly and efficiently.
