Job Summary:

The Robotic Service Quality Technician coordinates with the OR schedule and assures effective utilization of surgical instruments. This role participates in the development and implementation and through put of policies and procedures as they pertain to the care and handling of surgical instrumentation.

Job Functions:

Fosters a professional productive and effective relationship with other departments through open communication and constructive feedback.

Collaborates with support services to create an environmental optimal for the delivery of services.

Assists initiates and participates in committee activity.

Ensures ongoing communication with the leadership of PeriOperative Services.

Keep track of case flow during the day and notify the Sterile Processing Department in advance of additional needs.

Assist with the planning and coordination of instrument turnarounds and communicate with the surgical team regarding information that may affect surgery start time.

Review the accuracy of surgical trays and resolve any discrepancies that may arise.

Perform data analysis to understand trends and identify operational issues within the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department.

Ensure quality of care by assisting in the cleaning and maintenance of instrumentation.

Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks:

Rooms turn over limited to packing of used surgical instrumentation Coordinates the delivery quality control and cleaning and decontamination of surgical instrumentation.

Investigates and takes appropriate action when employee accidents occur and takes preventive action to prevent further occurrences.

Maintains delivery of services congruent to standards of practice policies and procedures to achieve compliance with regulatory agencies.

Participates in the department budgeting process.

Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of the Central Sterile Processing Department personnel and materials.

Reviews and analyzes trends of case cart usage.

Participates in the department s performance improvement activities.

Observes the Health Care System s compliance policies.

Reviews the utilization of staff and distributes responsibilities to maximize performance and productivity.

Recommends and justifies need for new items for surgical use.

Serves as a resource person for staff within the Central Sterile Processing Department and the Operating Room

Upholds safe environment by monitoring cleanliness potential hazards and electrical safety within the Central Sterile Processing Department.

Works collaboratively with other departments for the improvement of service in the department of Central Sterile Processing.

Participates in the development of other staff members.

Meets regulatory licensure and annual health assessment requirements.

Utilizes learning resources.

Keeps customer informed of new items purpose function and responsibility for care.

Displays courtesy tact and patience during interactions with all members of the hospital staff and extended community.

Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience:

Sterile processing Operating Room Hospital Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

IAHCSMM or CBSPD Central Sterile Processing Technician Certification.

Ability to acquire a thorough knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and to apply such principles when carrying out the various assignments in Sterile Processing and Surgical Services.
