Responsibilities:
Interpreting Record Retention and Disposition Schedules to determine appropriate retention and final disposition
Paper and electronic filing; and creating new files as required
Receiving, sorting and document preparation of incoming correspondence
Retrieval of routine requests for records
Use of electronic systems associated with updating and control of active and inactive records.
Reviewing files and inventory lists for accuracy
Assisting with record conversion projects
Lifting boxes up to 30lb
What you will need to succeed:
Candidates must have their own computer equipment
High School Diploma
2 to 3 years minimum of records management experience
Basic knowledge of Government of Alberta Records Management legislation, regulation, policies and procedures
Strong attention to detail and computer skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Familiar with interpreting and applying records retention and disposition schedules
Familiarity of Records Management/Document Management Software
Creativity and flexibility in order to adapt to various tasks
Basic knowledge with GoA EMS, ECSS and SPIN2 systems - an asset
Basic knowledge in data entry and ensuring meta-data integrity (site name, site location, etc.) an asset
