Radiologic Technologist to work in Beautiful Salida CO The Upper Arkansas Valley is an outdoor recreational dream. Since six of every seven acres is designated public lands the Valley is the perfect location for hiking biking horseback riding trail running rock climbing boating fishing and hunting. In the winter there are designated snowmobile routes and backcountry skiing. Monarch Ski & Snowboard Area is just 18 miles west of Salida. The Arkansas River is known for its worldclass trout fishery kayaking and whitewater rafting. Our vision is to be the healthcare provider of choice for our region as a worldclass rural medical organization.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:1. Consistently provides quality patient care in a professional atmosphere while performing radiographic exams with accuracy and professionalism as prescribed by a physician acknowledging the special needs of patients i.e. pregnancy trauma sick and/or elderly patients. 2. Consistently performs quality radiographic exams by: a. Determines proper technique through the selection of voltage current and exposure time to minimize patient and staff exposure and to effect quality diagnostic images. b. Properly positions patient to obtain optimum views of specified area of body as requested by physician. c. Properly shields to minimize radiation to patient and staff and to ensure a safe environment. 3. Transports patients to and from department and assists patient from bed or gurney to exam table. 4. Assures that any required consent forms are signed prior to examination and obtains pertinent and adequate history on all patient exams. 5. Obtains and fills out proper reaction sheets and histories as necessary for all patients; and advises physician of allergies as warranted. 6. Practices sterile techniques and cleanliness at all times to prevent crosscontamination. 7. Performs radiographic procedures in the operating rooms emergency rooms and recovery room and patient rooms using portable equipment in a safe efficient atmosphere. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must have graduated from an approved ARRT program; and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS Current Registration by the ARRT (R). Current CPR certification.
