As the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) you will play a pivotal role in ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Role: SENCo

Job Type: PartTime (3 days) Permanent

Start Date: September 2024 Start

Location: Camden North London

As the Primary SENCo you will:

  • Be at the forefront of designing implementing and evaluating effective strategies to support the learning and development of children with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to create inclusive learning environments and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Develop and oversee personalized support plans ensuring they are tailored to each childs unique strengths and challenges.
  • Foster strong partnerships with parents and guardians providing regular updates on their childs progress and offering guidance on how they can support their childs learning at home.
  • Provide ongoing training and support for staff to enhance their understanding of special educational needs fostering a culture of inclusivity within the school community.
  • Regularly assess the impact of SEN provision collecting and analysing data to make informed decisions and continuously improve support services.

Requirements for this SENCo Role:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant SENCo qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs or disabilities in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation policies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire colleagues in fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
