Location: Chester/Ellesmere Port
Salary: 26,000 to 29,545 (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, 37 hours a week.
Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

On behalf of our client, one of the UK's leading providers of employability and health services, we are recruiting for a Wellbeing Coach to join their amazing team.

As a Wellbeing Coach, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals to overcome health-related barriers to employment. Your primary goal will be to deliver performance outputs against agreed targets and contractual requirements, enabling customers to return to sustainable employment. You will work with a caseload of customers, using effective action planning techniques to educate and advise them on health and well-being conditions.

Your expertise will help participants identify and address health challenges, develop confidence, and acquire the practical and emotional skills needed for a working routine. By providing specialist health support through group work, digital/virtual sessions, and one-on-one coaching, you will empower individuals to make positive lifestyle changes and achieve their job goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently deliver performance outputs against agreed targets and contractual requirements.
  • Support a caseload of customers using effective action planning techniques to educate and advise on health and well-being conditions, enabling a return to sustainable employment.
  • Perform health-specific assessments with customers to identify health challenges around finding, starting, and sustaining suitable employment.
  • Provide health-specific evidence-based advice using clinical expertise and judgement to address health-specific barriers to work.
  • Deliver specialist health support through group work, digital/virtual sessions, tutor groups, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Develop and implement customer health-specific action plans, utilising evidence-based interventions to support job goals suited to customer's mental and physical health needs.
  • Promote the value of work for health and well-being, helping customers build confidence and practical and emotional skills for adapting to a working routine.
  • Support in the development of standardised training and support materials for non-healthcare trained employees to improve their knowledge base.
  • Deliver a range of health-specific programs, such as Managing Anxiety, Stress Management, Pain Management, Back & Neck Care, and various weekly classes (e.g., Relaxation, Exercise Classes).
  • Identify and build key relationships with internal delivery teams (e.g., Employment Consultants) and external stakeholders (e.g., GPs, healthcare providers, employers) to support individual progression.
  • Observe and adhere to customer service standards to ensure a high standard of service that maximises the customer's chances of securing sustainable employment.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records of interactions with all customers on the internal customer management system.
  • Actively engage communities in addressing the issues that affect their lives, setting goals for improvement and responding to needs through empowerment and active participation.
  • Identify community skills, assets, issues, and needs.
  • Be prepared to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet contract needs, including necessary travel and overnight stays.
  • Handle personal data in accordance with the organisation's data protection policy.
  • Adhere to the company's policies and procedures at all times, including Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, Quality, Health and Safety, and IT.

About You:

Essential

  • Proven experience in health promotion or public health.
  • Demonstrated ability to support individuals with health issues in returning to work, vocational rehabilitation, or occupational health.
  • Experience supporting individuals with physical and mental health difficulties in a customer-facing environment.
  • Competence in presenting and delivering health or wellbeing-related group interventions, and facilitating workshops or training sessions through digital technology.
  • Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders using coaching skills and knowledge of local community support areas.

Desirable

  • Qualification as a health professional registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), or British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
  • Knowledge and experience of the employability sector and local labour market.
  • Experience working with people in the provision of 'information, advice, and guidance'.
  • Full driving license to enable deployment across a specified geographical area (region), when required.
