TheeTransit Reporting system is a greenfield web application being built forPennDOT s Bureau of Public Transit to replace and enhance a legacy system usingthe latest .NET and Angular technologies for deployment to the Azure cloud.

***This requisitions current PO is funded through 6/30/24 so use that date in the RTR. Contract end date is dependent on the final schedule and projected needs. Historically additional funding should then last a year and occur from 7/1/246/30/25.***




The eTransitReporting system is a greenfield web application being built for PennDOT sBureau of Public Transit to replace and enhance a legacy system using thelatest .NET and Angular technologies for deployment to the Azure cloud. Theapplication will allow easier communication between PennDOT the FederalDepartment of Transit and public transit agencies within Pennsylvania whileenhancing lines of business and looking forward to future changes and systemsenhancements. Prospective initial deployment of the application is March 2025.

Candidates willwork under the direction of the project s Technical Lead and Application Architectto write test and document code to implement system features andenhancements.

Skills:

SQLServer / TSQL recent experience with Azure SQL.

APIsand Integration RESTful APIs microservices and eventdriven architecture

  • Knowledge of responsiveness and mobilefirst development
  • Knowledge of Design Patterns and Solid principles
  • Knowledge of digital accessibility and disability inclusion
  • Knowledge of regulations related to digital accessibility (e.g. Section 508 ADA)
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA requirements
  • Experience designing for platform technologies (e.g. HTML CSS JavaScript iOS Android)
  • Experience applying WAIARIA authoring guidelines and best practices.
  • Experience optimizing for the accessibility features of the platform (HTML iOS Android)
  • Experience developing digital products that comply with accessibility standards.

Preferred:Applicants with the following qualifications will be preferred:

  • Experience incorporating accessibility tests into the development process.
  • Experience building digital products where compliance with accessibility standards is part of definition of done

Work details:

  • Work hours are Monday Friday 8:30am 5:00pm excluding state holidays for a maximum of 40 hours/week. Lunch is 12:00 12:30. The contract assumes an additional 80 hours of unpaid leave in addition to the above per state fiscal year.
  • Work location is majority remote; however selected candidates will be required to report IN PERSON for an interview at PennDOT s offices at 400 North Street 5th floor Harrisburg PA. Engaged candidates will also need to report IN PERSON to pick up equipment as part of onboarding and may be required to report for occasional inperson meetings or training.
  • Selected candidates must provide a completed PATCH check and work authorization done at vendor expense prior to engagement.
  • Onsite work location is a secured floor. Engaged candidates must bring a check or money order for $$$$$ payable to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the first day work to pay for a badge.
The agency does not provide parking.
