Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Radiologist

Department: Radiology Department

Location: VA Medical Center

Position Type: Fulltime MonFri 8am5pm no call required

Overview: Join our dynamic healthcare team at the VA Medical Center as a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to contribute their expertise in nuclear medicine imaging to serve our nations veterans. As a Nuclear Medicine Radiologist you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions providing essential services to those who have bravely served our country.

Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnostic Imaging:

    • Perform and interpret nuclear medicine studies to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.
    • Utilize advanced imaging techniques to visualize and assess organ function detect abnormalities and guide treatment planning.
  2. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other healthcare professionals including radiologists physicians and technologists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary conferences to discuss and formulate treatment plans for complex cases.
  3. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations protocols and safety standards in nuclear medicine procedures.
    • Contribute to quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the Radiology Department.
  4. Education and Training:

    • Provide educational support to residents medical students and technologists in the field of nuclear medicine.
    • Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and contribute to the continuous education of the medical staff.
  5. Research:

    • Engage in scholarly activities and research projects to advance the field of nuclear medicine.
    • Publish research findings in peerreviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.

Qualifications:

  1. Medical Degree:

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
    • Board certification in Radiology and subspecialty certification in Nuclear Medicine.
  2. Licensure:

    • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
    • Eligibility for and enrollment in the National Provider Identifier (NPI) system.
  3. Experience:

    • Demonstrated expertise in nuclear medicine imaging and interpretation.
    • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
  4. Communication Skills:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
  5. Commitment to Veterans:

    • Passion for providing highquality healthcare services to veterans.
    • Understanding of the unique healthcare needs and challenges faced by veterans.
