Tasks and duties

• Handling Bookings and communicating with clients.
  


• Maintaining breed, clip and brand/product knowledge.
  


• Providing care for the pets whilst in your care.
  


• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness
  


• Regular cleaning, oiling, and sharpening your equipment
  


• Maintaining safe and positive animal handling
  


• Bathing, washing, de-matting and drying dogs of varying breeds and coat types.
  


• Clipping nails, detangling coats and cleaning teeth by selecting and using appropriate grooming equipment.
  

Dog grooming can be a physically demanding job, so it s important that Groomers are able to spend long periods standing or crouching, and that they are calm and comfortable working with, and handling, different breeds of dogs and the occasional cat.

Requirements

You'll need:

• Certification of Grooming Training is required from a Registered Training Organisation
  
• A Smartphone with a service plan
  
• A Police check (or willingness to undergo one).
  
• Excellent pet handling skills and breed knowledge.
  
• To be able to clip and scissor across all breeds unassisted, with confidence and a friendly nature.

• Generate a culture of professionalism by affording courtesy, respect, and fair treatment to all individuals;
  
• Follow and adhere to the Code for Professional Conduct, Qualification Standards, and WHSE Guidelines.
  
• Follow Fear-free Grooming practices.
