CVD Equipment Corporation, located in Central Islip, NY, has an opportunity for a Human Resource Assistant who will perform a full range of human resource administrative and organizational functions in support of CVD s human capital initiatives while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with talent acquisition including job postings, screening, interview scheduling, follow-up, talent pipelines, and orientation.
- Collaborate with department manager(s) to understand skill and competency requirements for openings.
- Manage employee onboarding programs including welcome packages, introductions, coordination of training requirements, and periodic check-ins,
- Track benefit eligibility, inform employees of benefit options and enroll employees in applicable benefit plans. (i.e., new hires, qualifying life events, and annual enrollment)
- Communicate and coordinate information in support of payroll administration.
- Reconcile monthly benefit plan invoices for timely payment.
- Maintain employee Personnel files and required record-keeping.
- Respond to employee inquiries, requests for information, and employment verifications.
- Administer leave programs for FMLA, STD, LTD, NY PFL, and WC.
- Plan and support employee recognition activities.
- Provide support to the development of programs that promote core values, diversity and inclusion, and positive employee experiences.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of related experience.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
- Proficient understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Proficient with, or ability to quickly learn, Human Resource information Systems (HRIS), Talent Management, Performance Management, and Learning Management systems.
