Job Title: Mainframe Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: LongTerm
Tech skills would be COBOL JCL Sequential Files TSO/ISPF Z/OS CICS DB2 /SQL
This is a pure mainframe developer position.
We need to submit candidates with
- Excellent comm. skills.
- Someone with experience on Health Insurance Life insurance companies.
- 12 plus years of exp. candidates.
- This is 100% Remote long term.
- Seasoned professional with a variety of technical skills developed.
- Strong knowledge and skill in multiple technologies related to mainframe.
- Focus on low to moderate complexity projects.
- Assists more senior team members on high complexity projects.
- Collaborates with team members to complete hardware and software system upgrades.
- Implements changes in configuration at the direction of more senior Engineers/Architects.
- Automate operations where possible.
- Conducts capacity planning.
- Runs installation jobs and scripts.
- Performs installationspecific customization tasks.
- Completes integrationtesting the new products with existing applications and user procedures.
- Performing systemwide performance tuning to meet required levels of service.
Strong problem solver
- Contributes to projects by completing assigned tasks under the direction of a senior team member.
- Uses logical thinking and technical knowledge to suggest potential courses of action.
- Able to articulate options for solving a problem with basic risk analysis and cost/benefit analysis.

- Actively participates in team discussions and decision making.
- Consistently completes assignments with high quality and timeliness.
- Requires moderate amount of oversight but can also provide oversight to less tenured team members.

- Basic troubleshooting skills focused on tickets.
- Basic understanding of how IT supports the business.
- Ability to create basic systems and process documentation with oversight from senior team members.
- Contributes to decision making discussions but not the final decision maker.
- Participates in internal audit activities (i.e. ISO 27001 selfassessment).
- Key contributor to Stage Gate and Corporate Funds Request (CFR) documents.
- Provides senior team members with information needed to estimate project scope and time.
- Contributes to the creation of detailed work plans for projects.
- Assists with management of risk items identified throughout the project.
- Able to document and articulate issues that arise during a project and then present them to senior members of the team.
