Mainframe Developer (Cobol) Remote

We are currently looking for a Mainframe Developer for one of our clients in the insurance industry.
What is in it for you:
Hourly salary of $78 to $85 based on experience.
12month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Work schedule from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Occasional weekend or evening availability may be necessary.

Responsibilities:
Analyze design develop and implement solutions.
Manage and coordinate offshore resources.
Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and external technical partners to ensure understanding of risks options and overall solutions.
What you will need to succeed:
5 years progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience.
Excellent working knowledge of mainframe environments.
Experience and understanding of TSO/ISPF DB2 IMS JCL and other mainframe utilities.
Experience using COBOL or PLI and SAS development languages.
Understanding of MQ Series and other middleware technologies.
Knowledge of Insurance and Wealth Investments Financial Service industries.
Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban would be an asset.
Familiarity with Git Bitbucket and Jenkins is a plus.
Keen appetite for learning relevant technologies and for continuous selfimprovement.
Ability to keep current with trends in emerging technologies.
Excellent problem analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Strong leadership planning organizational and consulting skills.
Ability to deliver analysis design development and implementation of solutions.
An effective communicator who will utilize their technical knowledge to lead technical discussions with stakeholders and external technical partners in a manner that ensures understanding of risks options and overall solutions.
A team player who actively collaborates to enhance both client satisfaction team dynamics and operational efficiency by consistently seeking opportunities for improvement.
