Operate two or more machining centers to perform rough to finish machining operations on raw stock and castings of
ferrous, alloy, non-ferrous and non-metallic materials weighing up to approx. 10 lbs. each.
Work from established routings, operations sheets, written and verbal instructions. Perform very basic set-ups under
guidance provided by more knowledgeable employee. Operate machines set-up by others. Position and set tooling in tool
changer based on established operational sequence. Load and secure work piece using appropriate clamps, jigs, chucks
and other devises.
Check completed work periodically using measuring instruments to insure that parts are within tolerance. Maintain close
check and be alert to stop machine in the event of worn tooling, skipping of repeated operations or any unusual noises.
Refer non-standard situations to the supervisor for corrective action.
Remove chips; clean equipment and replace pump filters; check oil levels at the start of each shift; add oil as needed;
perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe working area. Observe all company rules and regulations including safety, use of
personal protective equipment and quality of work.
Requirements
1. At least one year of applicable experience in a machine shop environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be fully mobile, with complete use of both arms and legs. Must be capable of standing for prolonged periods.
2. Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
3. Must have good visual and hearing ability.
