Job SummaryCT technologists utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce crosssection images of patients internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT scan technologist must be able to interpret a physician s scanning instructions administer contrast materials prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. A CT scan technologist must maneuver equipment and patients. This effort may pose physical challenges. CT scanners emit radiation which can be harmful to the technologist and patient if proper safety procedures are not followed.Job RequirementsMinimum EducationGraduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalentMinimum Work ExperiencePrevious experience performing CT scan procedures is preferred or equivalent experience as determined by the Department ManagerExperience on Toshiba CT Scanners is a plusRequired Licenses MA DPH Radiology License requiredARRT (R)ARRT (CT) Required SkillsOther desirable attributes include: quality conscious good interpersonal skills flexible in achieving multiple tasks dependable organized independent judgment high technical skillsFunctional DemandsPhysical RequirementsExerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction) and handles (seizing holding grasping turning or working with hands).
