Licensed Vocational Nurse

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing basic nursing care tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with daily living activities
• Administering medication and injections as directed by healthcare providers
• Collaborating with registered nurses and physicians to develop and update patient care plans
• Documenting patient interactions symptoms and medication administration in medical charts
• Assisting in patient assessments and communicating findings to the healthcare team
• Providing emotional support and guidance to patients and their families
• Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of patient care areas
• Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
• Responding to emergencies and performing first aid when necessary
• Participating in educational and training activities to maintain licensure and improve skills

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program
• Current LVN license in the state of practice
• CPR certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing principles and practices
• Proficiency in medication administration and dosage calculations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and highpressure environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting patient information
• Empathy and compassion for patients and their families
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Understanding of infection control protocols and safety measures
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients when necessary
