Duties of Direct Care LVN: The LVN will provide for the care treatment and general welfare of individuals residing at the State Supported Living Center who have complex medical mental health and/or behavioral health issues. Performs basic and advanced routine and nonroutine nursing tasks to promote the health of the individuals within the assigned areas and assigned shifts including medication administration wound care breathing treatments collecting specimens gastronomy care and emergency care. Also will assist RNs with the implementation of protocols procedures and programs to improve overall health and safety of staff and individuals. Works under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

High School/GED
direct patient care (2 years)
ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Texas (TX)
American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS) in Texas (TX)
Regular Driver License (DL) in Texas (TX)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) in Texas (TX)

OVERVIEW
Urgent need for LVNs please note that this is a psychiatric hospital and your candidates would be best equipped if they had some level of psychiatric experience. Will be working with Kids and Adults.
Start Date: November 1st
Current Open Shifts: 6:45am3:15pm (7a to 3p) or 2:45pm11:15pm (3p to 11p) Every other weekend off (nonnegotiable)
They are also interested in LVNs willing to work every Saturday and Sunday. This weekend shift could be 7am3pm 3pm11pm or 7am11pm. If they work the weekend schedule they can also pick up another 8hour shift for a full 40 per week.
You must make accommodations to be available for 10 consecutive days of training MF 85 (this is nonnegotiable).
Job Requirements for all Candidates:
Intends to work regularly
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have a valid Driver s License
Graduation from a standard senior high School or equivalent
Prefer experience in direct client care.
Basic computer skills Other:
COVID19 testing with negative result required (facility provides)
Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check (Relode provides)
Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (facility provides)
Required skills & experience: 1) Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. 2) Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of LA (or other NLC state). 3) 2+ years previous experience working in care management and/or with CKD/ESRD patients is preferred. 4) Ability to take call remotely on some nights and weekends 5) Must have Home Health and/or Hospice experience. Preferred 2+ years experience in any of the following: Dialysis Care Home Health Care Hospice Case Management (CM)
