Lead Full Stack Engineer

Epoch is a venturebacked technology company that leverages stateoftheart technologies to make agricultural and forestry supply chains transparent and sustainable. We leverage earth observation and web3 technology to monitor and report on environmental outcomes at the first mile of supply chains and leverage global payment networks to tie premium payments to improvement in measured and quantified sustainability metrics. Not even a year old we are already postrevenue and have the backing from advisors and investors most specialized and strategic for the space in which we operate.

Tasks

• Design and oversee the development infrastructure ensuring efficient CI/CD processes.
• Ensure smooth interaction between our fastapi backend and our ReactJS Front End components.
• Establish and maintain robust security infrastructure to safeguard our systems and data.
• Spearhead the recruitment and development of a software engineering team.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Cloud services specifically Google Cloud and how to best leverage them to automate costeffective workflows using best CI/CD practices.
• Development of cloudhosted services such as APIs and web apps and determine optimally whether to deploy them with serverless or serverbased architectures
• Containerization and orchestration tools (Docker Kubernetes) are a central part of your software engineering toolbox.
• Proficiency with React JS/Native and its geospatial flavor to build highperformance web map UIs while ensuring responsive design and crossbrowser compatibility.
• Knowledge of Node.js and Python for serverside applications is highly desirable
• Mastery of both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Longstanding experience in git version control upholding very high standards for clean code and repository structure management. A track record in opensource development is highly desirable.
• Prior experience with geospatial and earth observation data is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of the web3 stack as a nicetohave and ability to juggle between web2 and web3 concepts depending on usecases at hand.
• Tackle complex problems managing ambiguity effectively and balancing product perfection with timely delivery.
• Actively participate in the planning setting and meeting of project deadlines.
• A natural affinity for team building and delegation alongside a handson approach to development.
• Strong planning skills with a track record of meeting deadlines in a fastpaced startup environment.
