Role Overview:
Responsible for day-to-day databases management and maintenance, including monitoring, reviewing logs and performance / capacity reporting. In addition, execute all approved tasks related to day-to-day activities and other projects. Provide daily reports for backup and archiving status for all databases.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle RAC and Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure high performance, availability, and security.
Identify and resolve performance issues, bottlenecks, and other database-related problems to enhance system efficiency.
Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive information.
Monitor database systems regularly, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to provide database support and contribute to the success of projects.
Participation in the 24x7 on-call role to maintenance activities after business hours or during weekends when it is needed.
Keeping up to updates and patches related to Microsoft SQL DB and performing necessary upgrades as per recommendations.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or any related field.
Professional certificates: Microsoft SQL Certificate, OCA, OCP Oracle Professional Certificates are a plus.
Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a Database administration.
Strong expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Good Knowledge of Installing RAC Database maintenance / troubleshooting.
Good Knowledge of Database Patching and Upgrading.
Experience in designing and implementing backup and recovery strategies.
Proficiency in database security best practices and implementation.
Solid understanding of database architecture and relational database management systems.
