Job Description

Role: IPT/Voice Engineer

Level: Junior

Contract period: 1 year

Work Location: Plano TX (must be able to work onsite 3 day/wk currently but not permanently hybrid)

Travel: up to 35% (domestic)

no C2C

Responsibilities

Performs varied tasks of moderate complexity requiring the application of standard procedures and criteria. Responsible for troubleshooting problems of voice system/network. Commission voice project on/offsite. Demonstrates a degree of experience managing vendor/carrier enduser support.

Takes responsibility of work order requests by clients and completes tasks with quality in mind all the time and delivers results through quick action.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of voice system.
  • Understanding the concept of voice networking.
    • Layer 1: understand the type of cables.
    • Layer 2 & 3: understand Access List Voice VLAN AV signal voice packet and media and call routing.
  • Understanding the concept of data networking.
    • Layer 1: understand the types of cables.
    • Layer 2 & 3: understand Access List Access VLAN packet routing and switching.
  • Work with various voice service providers.
  • Able to make decisions on endvoice device type equipment need for the business and able to configure and deploy equipment as needed.
  • Understanding of voice signaling protocols SIP analog voice circuits and how to troubleshoot each.
  • Ethernet IP troubleshooting and testing using Fluke test equipment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel documents
  • Understanding of IP Networking VOIP TDM technology and voicerelated thirdparty equipment.
  • Must be detailoriented with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers management and team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to prioritize and reprioritize as needed in a fastpaced working environment especially when dealing with timesensitive issues and mandated deadlines.
  • Must be analytical and have proven problemsolving abilities.
  • Knowledge of billing and various practices associated with billing.
  • Computer skills at level of understanding and use MS Word Excel and PPT.
  • A Certified preferred but not required
