Job Description

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to support a global retail consumer services company in San Bruno CA.

This is an onsite contract role open to local candidates.
Duration: 12 months with possibility for extension and conversion to a FT employee.

Job Summary:
The primary goal of this role is to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. The topical scope is retail business practices retail tools process and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention
  • Work with subject matter experts and identify the target audience s training needs
  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Visualize instructional graphics the user interface and the finished product
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
  • Apply tested instructional design theories practice and methods
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio video simulations role plays games etc)
  • Decide on the criteria used to judge learner s performance and develop assessment instruments
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders


Requirements


Education:
  • BS or MA degree in instructional design educational technology or ID (required)
Required:
  • 37 years of proven experience in instructional design and technology
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Visual design skills (Photoshop/Illustrator)
  • Ability to write effective copy instructional text audio scripts/video scripts

Preferred:
  • Articulate 360 (RISE) knowledge
  • Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
  • Camtasia knowledge

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $38 to $39. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location work experience education and/or skill level. Employees may be eligible to participate in company employee benefit programs such as health insurance savings plan pension plan disability plan vacation pay sick time holiday pay and work personal and family time off in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
