Medica has the Incentive Comp Management (ICM) platform within SAP that manages all of their Broker Commissions/Compensation. They have historically outsourced the management of this platform and their broker commissions to a third party who specializes in ICM. This partnership was owned by the business and so IT has little to no involvement in the past with comp management. They have had a continued pattern of issues with data quality and reporting inaccuracies which has led to significant issues and LOTs of not happy noise around broker commissions. They are subsequently bringing that ownership back in house to be managed internally by Medica IT and will be transitioning away from outsourcing to 3rd party. However there is a big lift to get them ready to deploy that capability in house: they need to revalidate the end capabilities and use cases for broker commissions and from there back end to an overall assessment/mapping/recommendation of how to get there. They have very little trust in their data quality their data accessibility strategy will need to shift as they bring that in house they need to map out the processes to help build out new SOPs/SLAs to be managed now internally and then once all of that is validated and designed they need to figure out how to deploy within ICM build model for continued support.
