Job Purpose

The finance function not only reports and reviews the performance of the bank, it increasingly questions and guides the business to develop within the value-creation framework, offering a deep understanding and analysis of the bank s performance and operations to support the board level of the bank to manage the business effectively and efficiently.

This role supports the Head of Decision Support who is responsible for all month end reporting, development of MI packs, participation in forecasting and budget exercises, ad hoc requests, supporting TM1 development. Specifically, this role is to support the Finance Business Partners in extracting and analyzing complex MI from the TM1 tool to deliver to business and finance stakeholders.

The role gives the opportunity for regular interaction with the Wholesale Banking division including the European branch network, treasury function and the wider finance function (local and head office) primarily as part of explaining the financials but may also include budget & forecasting and collaborating on cross-functional projects.


Job Context

Reporting to the Head of Decision Support and in certain circumstances may need to deal directly with the CFO and senior management. Environment is changing fast and the role requires adaptability to this change, defining the correct MI across the business, ensuring that we develop the necessary MIS in partnership with the Financial Systems team to support these requirements. Role requires close partnering with wider finance, Financial Systems and the business, both in London and across Europe.

Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Deliverables

Support the business through the provision of effective, timely MI
Ownership of key data files driving Board MI and Group quarterly performance reviews
Development of new financial models and reporting
Ad-hoc Financial analysis/Business Support
Support with daily processes (daily reports, reconciliations)
Month end management information reports and analysis including KPIs
Assist Finance Business Partners with Budgeting/Forecasting
Support Group MI and Data Warehouse Project
Ad hoc project work
Improve and streamline regular DS processes making full use of TM1 s capabilities
Work closely with Financial Systems team, clearly communicating changes to enhance TM1 model


Knowledge

Mandatory:

Expert in interrogating IBM Planning Analytics (TM1 Perspectives) as an end user
Business performance management, including planning, reporting and analysis
Advanced excel skills, ability to analyze and interrogate data to provide meaningful insights
Financial modelling experience
Experience of working with client level management information

Highly Desirable:

VBA, MDX for building dynamic and automated TM1 reports
Basic knowledge of Trade Finance and other banking products and reporting principles
Experience with IBM Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX) and Workspace (PAW)
Familiar with BI dashboarding tools e.g. Cognos Analytics, Power BI
Experience with linking PowerPoint to Excel for executive presentations

Experience

Minimum 2 years experience with TM1 as an end user ideally within Financial Services sector working with large multi-dimensional data models
Transaction Banking, Real Estate or Treasury product knowledge beneficial

Attributes

Self-motivated and ability to work independently, articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong team ethic
