Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Field Technician for a contract position lasting 6 months or longer. The role will primarily be based in NY and NJ with a hybrid work arrangement. We welcome candidates with all types of visas to apply. The Field Technician will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting services to our clients with a focus on desktop computing hardware operating systems and various software applications. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills excellent communication abilities and the ability to work well under pressure. Extensive experience with VMware client operating systems and server hardware is required. Additional training or certifications in Service Management ITIL or SAP (Umoja) support would be highly beneficial.

Requirements:

• Experience: 5 years of experience in the field.
• Broad knowledge of the application landscape and a good understanding of desktop computing including peripherals software and licensing.
• Thorough knowledge of computer hardware operating systems Microsoft O365 and other major software applications.
• Strong technical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• Extensive experience with VMware vCenter 3/4/5/6/7 VMware ESXi 3/4/5/6/7 VMware VSAN VMware Site Recovery Manager vSphere Replication vRealize Operations Manager VMware vSphere Data Protection vSphere Converter VMware vCloud Suite VMware NSX VMware Workstation PowerShell EMC PowerPath EMC Networker AWS Cloud Computing Services and Azure Cloud Computing Services.
• Handson experience with client operating systems like Windows 2000/2003/2008/2012/2016/2019 and RHEL Linux 4/5/6/7.
• Extensive experience with HPE and Cisco servers.
• Experience with setting up and running SQL and SQL clustering on VMware.
• Additional training in Service Management certifications in ITIL and/or in SAP (Umoja) support are highly desirable.
