Electrical Maintenance Technician

• Carry out the needed electrical preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities for various power plant equipment in a timely and safe manner with strict adherence to maintenance procedures and work instructions applicable for the respective activities and with minimal supervision and in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
• Comply with Siemens energy safety rules and regulations.
• Document maintenance concerns/history for the equipment.
• Highlight major maintenance requirements to the supervisor to schedule corrective maintenance within the suggested and accepted timeframe.
• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard maintenance procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.
• Install, adjust, inspect, service and repair a variety of static and rotating electrical equipment utilized in power plants.
• Carry out all necessary preparation required for electrical maintenance to the assigned equipment or area.
• Perform 5S housekeeping in his area of work.
  
  

What You Bring

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years hands-on electrical maintenance technician experience
• Holds an industrial technical diploma or equivalent degree from an accredited technical institute.
• Previous experience working in power generation industry and knowledge of relevant power plant equipment would be an advantage.
• Hands on overhead cranes maintenance and troubleshooting experience is preferred.
• Able to work both independently and in a team environment completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility.
• Able and willing to work in confined spaces, working at heights, around chemicals and on-call shifts.
• Strong electrical skills and ability to effectively utilize electrical test equipment such as multi-meters, meggers, or other specialized test equipment.
• Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and single line drawings.
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
• Ability to work collaboratively (with internal and external partners) and individually to achieve results.
• Flexible to meet the changing needs of site work.
• Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Good computer literacy and knowledge of computer-based applications skills
