Design Manager

You will spearhead the design and drafting workload, standards, and best practices within the mechanical group. This includes Mechanical equipment, general arrangements, piping Isometrics, pneumatic convey lines, and material handling equipment.

What you'll be doing as a Design Manager

• Supervise, plan, develop, coordinate and review engineering work related to Mechanical design on a project or assignment for the NA DEPS team.
• Estimate staffing needs and schedules and assign work to meet schedule dates while coordinating with customer needs (Project Managers, Plant personnel, & AD of DEPS)
• Develop and maintain drafting standards for North America
• Provide supervision and technical direction to Designers, Drafters and Engineers
• Review and approve key engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents.

What you will need

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in design/drafting or a related field. Please know that we embrace experience in lieu of a degree.
• Substantial experience in Design Engineering or related field
• 3D model design review software experience required, whilst CadWORX or Plant 3D is preferred.
• A few years’ experience managing a department or group of people.
• Awareness and implementation of safety practices in the workplace and in the production of CADD drawings (“Safety in Design”)
• Proficient with MS suite and AutoCAD.
• Ability to work well with a team of peers and other managers
• Ability to manage multiple projects and staff workloads to accomplish team goals.
