Your Responsibilities

As Deputy Head of France you are responsible for making FRIDAY successful in one of the most attractive markets for startups and insurance in Europe. You will report directly to the France CEO.
This is a high impact, high reward role for proven leaders with excellent acumen and insurance experience. You will lead the FRIDAY France teams including Sales, Claims, Insurance, Actuary, Marketing and Partnerships. You will be responsible for scaling the French business, after a successful launch in summer 2021. You will be a resource to others to identify and address client problems and areas of improvement for our teams, clients and partners. You will build strong relationships with our partners and our 200-strong team members in France, Germany, Poland and Luxembourg.
We are looking for a talented and results-driven individual with a deep understanding of the insurance market who is eager to actively shape the future of insurance.

Your responsibilities:

  • Support to the France CEO and the leadership team in defining the strategy and setting goals for growth.
  • Strategy and execution: translate our strategy into a roadmap and a vision for each team. Leverage and empower shared functions to roll out our strategy.
  • Sales and partnerships: Support, develop and challenge teams on sales target and profitability.
  • Marketing: Support the marketing/ media mix (above and below the line) to effectively reach and mobilize our target market segments to buy our products with sustainable and profitable unit economics.
  • Collaborate: Reporting directly to the local Country Manager and liaising closely with FRIDAY s Chief Marketing Officer (dotted reporting line) and the Central Marketing team in Berlin.
  • Compliance: Ensure execution of regulatory requirements and market standard across our lines of business.
  • Optimize: the operational business of FRIDAY France with projects for automation and customer self-services aimed at the reduction of overhead cost and optimization of customer engagement.

Your ideal background and skillset

  • Leadership: Proven track record of building and managing winning teams with a can-do and hands-on attitude.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of relevant work experience in insurance with a record of meaningful commercial impact and operational excellence, and a solid knowledge of the French insurance industry.
  • Languages: You are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Analysis: Strong analytical skills, including being KPI-driven with great attention to detail and you enjoy working with data (e.g. business cases) to support your recommendations.
  • Steering: Solid experience in managing projects/ programs with Tech implications and/ or developing digital products based on OKR methodology
  • Collaboration: You enjoy working in a multicultural and diverse environment and are willing to contribute to creating an open, happy place to work.
