DB2 Database Developer

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide database technicalassistance to Developers QA Support and Business Analysts.
• Manage the schema migration file creations andperformance benchmark testing.
• Review developer database SQL code for quality andadherence to standards.
• Write DB code that follows standards meetscustomer needs and performs well.
• Analyze and identify performance issues caused bypoorly written SQL and resolve them.
• Analyze software defects and make suggestions anddecisions on how to resolve the defects.
• Contribute to ongoing projects related to databaseservices.
• Document and manage projects utilizing internalsystems and procedures with a focus on making all processes repeatable andreusable by others.
• Provide Level 3 support for customer databaseserver issues and/or performance inquiries.

Required Skills:

• College degree or an equivalentcombination of education and related experience
• 35 years of experience with a marketleadingRDBMS (DB2 SQL Server Oracle)
• 35 years of experience with Complex SQL (DynamicStored Procedures and Triggers)
• 12 years of experience Developing Applications
• 12 years of experience setting up and managingclustered server environments
• 12 years of experience managing various databasebackup and recovery strategies
• 23 years of experience working in more than oneOperating System environment (Windows Linux AIX Mainframe etc)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Passion for delivering highquality products andsolutions
• A teamfriendly attitude and willingness to learn
• Excellent problemsolving skills Familiarity with the Agile software development model
• Ability to own projects and work with minimaldirection to meet deadlines
• Organized and detailoriented
• Ability to read and interpret businessrequirements and technical documents
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
