These positions offer flexible hours and most positions offer partial remote work. They are located in Northern Virginia Maryland or Texas. Locations in MD include Annapolis Junction Columbia Laurel and other surrounding cities. Location in TX is San Antonio. Relocation assistance is offered if needed.

Role Description:
The Analytic Hosting Platform team is seeking a dynamic Cloud System Engineer to join their team to contribute to building and maintaining the cuttingedge Ghost Machine Cloud environment platform that enables dataintensive analytics for their customers. You will be an integral part of our Operations Team working in a cloud environment platform built with Java on Free and OpenSource Software products including Kubernetes Hadoop and Accumulo. Your primary responsibility will be to enable the execution of dataintensive analytics on a managed infrastructure while ensuring daytoday operations stability and providing exceptional customer support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the cloud environment platform to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in a Linux environment with a focus on identifying and resolving technical problems.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to implement and optimize solutions based on customer requirements.
• Provide oncall support to address critical issues and minimize downtime.
• Utilize scripting experience (Python Bash) to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
• Monitor system performance using tools such as Prometheus Grafana and JIRA.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and best practices in cloud administration.

Requirements:

• Strong background in troubleshooting operational issues in a Linux environment.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Openstack.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Knowledge of Hadoop Accumulo and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) is advantageous.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and tools like Salt is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fastpaced team environment and proactively complete tasks with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in cloud technologies (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certified Kubernetes Administrator) is desirable.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Prior experience with agile software development methodologies.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering Science Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• OR Number of years of additional technical experience may be substituted for a degree.
