Chief Technology Officer CTO - Fintech Ex- Silicon Valley

We are a cutting-edge fintech startup based in Malaysia Our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be instrumental in charting and executing our technology roadmap, ensuring that our company remains a trailblazer in IT and fintech innovation. We are distinguished by our emphasis on exceptional UIUX.

As the CTO, you will spearhead the development and execution of our technology strategy, steering product development and overseeing our dynamic technology team. We seek a candidate with a robust technical background, profound knowledge of IT and telecommunications trends, exceptional leadership acumen, and a proven track record in successful technology implementation.

Daily tasks:

• Develop and execute the organization's technology strategy aligned with the CEO and founders' vision and overall business objectives.
• Integrate emerging IT and telecommunications trends into our strategic direction, staying abreast of industry developments and competitive landscapes.
• Lead and cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the technology team.
• Evaluate and enhance existing technology infrastructure, systems, and processes to drive improvements.
• Spearhead product development initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Oversee cybersecurity measures to safeguard data, systems, and client information.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, to define and prioritize technology initiatives enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure efficient delivery of technology services and products.
• Lead technology projects, offering guidance and support to project teams, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely completion.
• Develop and manage the technology budget, optimizing resource allocation and implementing cost control measures.
• Foster a culture of innovation, driving technology-based solutions to boost productivity, efficiency, and gain a competitive advantage.
• Stay informed about technological advancements, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, assessing their potential impact on company operations.
• 20% traveling in Asia is required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Silicon Valley startup is mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Proven senior leadership experience, ideally as a Chief Technology Officer or in a similar role within the IT and telecommunications services industry.
• Exceptional knowledge of IT and telecommunications infrastructure, systems, and emerging technologies.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, network architecture, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
• Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies, driving transformative change and achieving business objectives.
• Track record of successfully delivering technology projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, inspiring and managing a diverse team effectively.
• Sound business acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, evaluating complex technology solutions strategically.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the IT and telecommunications industry.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in fintech, trading, banking, neobanking, and cybersecurity.
• Track record of contributing to the success of a Silicon Valley startup.
• Strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and strong leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the fintech industry.
