Job Title: Apigee Architect

Onsite Role from day one. Atlanta GA is the location


Responsibilities:

• API Strategy and Design: Develop and implement API strategies aligned with business goals. Design scalable and secure APIs that meet industry best practices.
• Apigee Implementation: Lead the implementation of Apigee API management platform. Configure and customize Apigee to meet the specific needs of the organization.
• API Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire API lifecycle including API creation versioning publishing and retirement. Ensure proper documentation and communication throughout the lifecycle.
• Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to protect APIs and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Implement OAuth API keys and other security mechanisms.
• Integration with Backend Systems: Integrate APIs with backend systems databases and other enterprise applications. Ensure seamless data flow and optimal performance.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of APIs. Implement caching load balancing and other techniques to enhance API efficiency.
• Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with development teams to understand application requirements and design APIs that support these requirements. Provide guidance on API usage.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Address and resolve issues related to APIs. Provide support for developers and other stakeholders using the Apigee platform.
• Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in API management and implement best practices accordingly.
  

Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: Indepth knowledge of Apigee API management platform. Familiarity with other API management tools is a plus.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java Python or Node.js. Understanding of RESTful API design principles.
• Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of API security principles and best practices. Experience with implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Integration Experience: Handson experience in integrating APIs with various backend systems databases and cloud services.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
• ProblemSolving Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API implementation.
• Project Management: Experience in managing API projects including planning execution and monitoring.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in Apigee or other API management platforms are a plus.
• Overall an Apigee Architect plays a crucial role in shaping an organizations API strategy and ensuring the seamless integration of APIs to support business objectives.
