Job Summary
Job Description: Friday through Tuesday 8:00am-4:30pm
Special knowledge skills & abilities:
- Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
- Knowledge of inventory management required.
- Must be able to operate computer and facsimile machines.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Accurately read and interpret information.
- Good interpersonal communication skills and telephone etiquette required.
- Act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Removes transports and disposes of various hazardous materials (medical supplies solvents radiographic radioactive and nuclear materials) in accordance with safety standards and government regulation
- Inventory In / Out Patient Charge System Effectively uses the department inventory computer system and hospital EMR system. Accurately issue and credit inventory Take PAR level orders using handheld device Pick and deliver orders to appropriate supply location Rotate stock and maintain neat and orderly supply locations Accurately locate items in Distribution and Stores by using the computer stock catalogs and picklists. Participates in Fiscal year End Inventory Inspects and confirms incoming freights uses inventory computer system to receive in freight and generate delivery documents. Distributes received materials to appropriate staging area/delivery location. Operates electronic equipment (hand trucks carts etc.)
- Equipment Restock deliver and/or stage procedure carts Understands the operation of all equipment maintained in the equipment room. Issues the equipment and disposable accessories to the units when requested
- Sort and stage incoming mail for departmental pick up Sort and stage outgoing mail for vendor pick up
- Phones / Training / Organization Assists with the phone as needed able to handle more than one call at a time while maintaining proper phone etiquette. Assists in training new staff keeps current with changes and learns new processes / procedures in a timely manner Organizes and prioritizes workload to ensure efficiency and accuracy Knowledgeable about all back up plans for system and/or hospital downtime. Keeps current with changes and learns new processes/procedures in a timely manner
