About the role
Provide specialist evidence-based assessment treatment consultation and care coordination for adults with eating disorders across outpatient and inpatient services delivering trauma-informed recovery-oriented care and supporting seamless continuity between hospital and community settings to improve clinical outcomes
Deliver inpatient consultation services including diagnostic clarification formulation behavioural management strategies and support for safe discharge planning
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team liaising with medical psychiatric dietetic and community providers to ensure coordinated recovery-oriented care and continuity across services
Contribute to clinical governance including documentation outcome monitoring case review participation service improvement activities and provision of education supervision and mentorship to staff and students
Support patient advocacy safety planning escalation of clinical risk and referral to external services including NDIS and community supports where appropriate
About you
Relevant tertiary degree in Allied Health or Nursing and eligibility for membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with evidence of extensive clinical experience in a hospital or health-related field as a practising Social Worker; or minimum two-year full-time equivalent APAC-accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology
Demonstrated expertise skills and experience in mental health with the ability to work collaboratively with consumers within a trauma-informed recovery-oriented and strengths-based framework
Experience in clinical practice using evidence-based interventions to assess and treat people with eating disorders
Sound knowledge of the assessment diagnosis and treatment of people with eating disorders including understanding of eating disorder service provision across private and public health settings and demonstrated application of current evidence-based eating disorder practice principles
Demonstrated experience in liaising consulting and educating on medical and/or mental health issues with health professionals e.g. GPs Nurses and Allied Health involved in the management and treatment of inpatients and/or clients in the community
Ability to lead and contribute to research projects quality improvement and education activities with highly developed written verbal communication and negotiation skills
