Description of Work

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest most complex agencies in the state and has approximately 17000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health safety and well-being of all North Carolinians providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf blind developmentally disabled and mentally ill and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.

Title IV Part D of the Social Security Act the Child Support Services Section within the Division of Social Services establishes administrative procedures and financial accountability for core services: 1) Location of the Non-Custodial Parent; 2) Establishment of Paternity; 3) Establishment of Support Obligation; 4) Collection of Support Payments; and 5) Enforcement of Support Obligation. There are four units of organization in the Central Office and the Administrative Specialist I position is located within Compliance and Support which is located at the Customer Support Call Center located in Martin County NC. This role works in a fast paced high volume call center with a steady flow of incoming calls each day. The primary responsibilities of this position are to:

- Provide accurate information on daily and monthly reports.
- Create badges and users in the statewide Child Support System ACTS (Automated Collection and Tracking System)
- Mail generated ACTS documents for callers
- Assist with annual security trainings
- Handle technical trouble shooting of equipment and applications
- Ensure sufficient supplies for operational purpose for mail print jobs and office supplies
- Monitor building security systems reports and audits
- Communicate and coordinate vendor services building repairs and ensure cleaning services.

Salary Range: $41206 - $72113

The following Management Preferences are not required but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

Working experience compiling assimilating and organizing both printed and electronic information with knowledge of data collection storage organization manipulation and/or analysis of data.

Experience using office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet organizational needs.

Experience with identifying and understanding issues problems and opportunities; use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.

Must be able to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups.

Must be able to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form using correct grammar organization and structure.

Physical Requirements (If Applicable):

*Ability to sit for long periods of time.

*Ability to look at a computer monitor for an extended period of time.

*Ability to type for an extended period of time.
